As part of the Alliance Town Center South entertainment core, Truck Yard, a popular live music and food venue, features indoor and outdoor patios with a daily rotation of food trucks and unique elements including a Ferris wheel. Our planners, landscape architects, and engineers designed the site which includes a dog park, goat petting pen, large shade trees, decomposed granite hardscape for outdoor activity areas, and plantings to frame outdoor stages. The planting plan uses a transition plant palette for the area with traditional plantings paired with more xeric, colorful, and interesting selections including Desert Willow, Red Yucca, and Damianita.
The site design was coordinated with master-planning efforts for the adjoining Prairie Vista Drive corridor which includes retail, office, hotel, multi-family, and entertainment venues. Our landscape architects designed the streetscape to include on-street parking shaded with trees to give an urban/downtown feel. Pedestrian connectivity and circulation are provided throughout, with pedestrian safety addressed by using widened crossings identified with pavers for high visibility. Buildings front onto the street right-of-way, making our planning work on the project an important first step in achieving the long-term vision of the area.
