Stanley Black & Decker opened this 447K SF manufacturing plant just 2 miles from their Northport distribution center, making this their second strategic location in the Alliance industrial areas of North Fort Worth. The new plant will manufacture a wide range of craftsman mechanics tools, leveraging some of the most advanced manufacturing technologies available to increase productivity and sustainability. The site includes an employee parking lot, truck court, driveway connections and the design of water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain systems. The on-site storm drainage was designed using XP-SWMM dynamic modeling software, which accounts for detention in ponding areas and allows for a significant cost savings in storm drainage infrastructure. Off-site infrastructure included 4,300 linear feet of large box culvert storm drainage and 900 linear feet of sanitary sewer which required coordination with the Trinity River Authority.
GAIN GROUND: Our hydrologists updated the overall watershed analysis for the Alliance Center North industrial development, which includes this Stanley Black & Decker site, and made accommodations for a proposed regional city park adjacent to the site. This required the use of energy dissipation measures, careful design of outfall structures to the park, and close coordination with the City of Fort Worth. The proposed city park will provide 164 acres of walkable workforce amenities.
