City of Fort Worth
This high-traffic volume intersection at North Tarrant Parkway and North Riverside Drive was initially designed as a roundabout with bypass right turn lanes (our team provided 90% plans for this design), but at the direction of the city, was later changed to a conventional signalized intersection. North Tarrant Parkway was originally designed as a 4-lane divided roadway with a future expansion to 6 lanes planned. An intersection analysis, performed to establish the optimum long-term solution for growth in the area, determined that North Tarrant Parkway would instead be constructed as a 6-lane divided roadway with current pavement striping for four lanes.
Our team provided traffic operational analysis, data collection, surveying, SUE, geotechnical investigation, ROW documentation, program planning, civil design of roadway and utilities, delineation of waters of the U.S., drainage analysis and storm drainage design, and the H&H modeling of Whites Branch (culvert crossings, LOMR, FEMA coordination and approval).
