NORTH RIVERSIDE DRIVE / SHIVER ROAD ROUNDABOUT
Fort Worth, Texas
City of Fort Worth and Hillwood Development Company
5,700 linear feet of arterial roadway; utilities; drainage
A successful example of a public/private partnership between the city of Fort Worth and Hillwood Development Company, Peloton provided the engineering design for this 4-lane divided arterial roadway, including a 16-inch waterline. Services included surveying, civil design, utilities, drainage analysis, and the hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of Whites Branch, which runs parallel to the roadway. In addition, Peloton provided the design of a roundabout at Shiver Road which services the intersection of North Riverside Drive (a 4-lane divided arterial) and Shiver Road (a 2-lane undivided residential street) with a connection to a future residential development. Utility design efforts were coordinated with franchise utility companies and the city of Fort Worth Parks Department.
Peloton delivered on a fast-track design for this project. The arterial roadway was designed in only nine weeks and was ready to bid on schedule with an adjacent project of similar size and scope that took 50 weeks to design and have ready for bid (designed by others).
