2,100-acre master-planned community with 400 acres of parks
The Heartland master-planned community is currently under construction near the City of Forney and will include 7,600 residential units with a population of more than 25,000 people at full build-out. The project encompasses several Municipal Utility Districts (MUD) and will include more than 400 acres of parks, a 35-acre stocked lake with fishing pier, community centers, a central athletic complex with ballfields, miles of hike and bike trails, and a new elementary and middle school in Crandall ISD.
Peloton planners master-planned the development with pedestrian connectivity and walkability as a top priority, and subsequently created detailed land plans that integrated environmental, hydrology, and civil solutions, resulting in holistically unified phases of development. Our landscape architects designed and prepared construction plans for pocket parks, open/green spaces, streetscapes, dog parks, entry monumentation, and hike & bike trails throughout Heartland, creating traversable, enticing, and safe environments for residents to experience. Efforts included planting and hardscape plans, grading and drainage plans, playground layout and design, and the renovation of a local favorite amenity, the Pirates Cove Playground, with island and treasure map additions.
