Corral City is located along I-35W at the intersection of FM 407, halfway between Denton and Fort Worth, and serves as a gateway to ongoing residential and commercial developments in the vicinity. With future development plans for the surrounding area in the works, our landscape architects and planners designed interim improvements for the property which maintain the existing use while planning for future commercial development surrounding the site. Enhancements include expanded parking, a food truck park, restrooms, covered pavilion with picnic tables, decomposed granite trails for pedestrian access to adjacent retail, landscape improvements along FM 407, and enhanced vegetative screening along I-35W.
Sustainable, native landscaping included the use of xeric plants, ornamental grasses, and boulders sourced on-site. Trees that were removed as part of the property improvement/expansion were relocated on-site or replanted on other sites, and a fenced pasture area provides space for several longhorn steer. The original Corral City theming was preserved and incorporated throughout the project, including an entry monument that mimics the shape of the adjacent Town Hall building.
