On September 28, 2018, Travis Clegg, P.E. was awarded 2018 Associate of the Year from The Greater Fort Worth Builders Association. He was presented the award at the 2018 Installation and Awards Banquet by Diana Nix of Nix Door and Hardware at the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth. The 2018 Installation and Awards Banquet is the annual installation of the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association’s new leadership and Awards ceremony honoring distinguished members of the association.
Travis has been a GFWBA member for 4 years and has been on the Board of Directors for 2 years.
It has been my honor to serve as the Chairman of the Hammer & Nails PAC Committee for the past 12 months. During this time, I’ve met with national and state leaders, as well as Fort Worth City Council and City Management, to help push policies beneficial to our membership.
Along with chairing the Hammer & Nails PAC, I also attend and sit on the Governmental Affairs Committee. With my role as the Chairman of the Development Advisory Committee in Fort Worth, I have detailed knowledge and influence of future/potential policies and practices that I communicate to our Governmental Affairs committee.
As the Hammer & Nails Chairman, it has been my privilege to meet with Congresswoman Kay Granger, State Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn, Texas State Representatives Joe Barton, Kenny Marchant, Michael Burgess, and Marc Veasey. We spoke on many different topics including Regulatory issues (Waters of the U.S.), Canadian Tariffs of softwood, annexation rules, taxing limitations on cities, labor forces, and career and technical education/shortages. ~ Travis Clegg
