This residential community straddles the Fort Worth/Saginaw city line, in an active and growing part of North Texas adjacent to the 200-acre City of Fort Worth Northwest Community Park. Peloton Land Solutions, a Westwood company engineers designed almost 50 acres, in various phases, totaling 111 individual single-family lots. Our engineers provided plans for streets, grading, storm drainage, water, and sanitary sewer for the development. Our hydrologists prepared a flood study for the 100-year floodplain along Robertson Branch (a tributary of Big Fossil Creek) that traverses a 10-acre park nestled between phases of the development. A hydraulic analysis using HEC‐RAS steady flow simulation was performed to develop the 100‐year ultimate proposed floodplain in the area affected by the proposed development. A flood study was then prepared to analyze and document the impacts to the floodplain associated with the existing (pre‐project) and proposed (post‐project) development. This required a 6-cell, 10’x5’ multi‐box culvert to be placed along Robertson Branch beneath Ash Meadow Drive.
