Peloton will be on hand as BRIT celebrates 30 years this weekend with a day-long festival designed to highlight the natural and cultural history that defines our region. Come visit our booth at BRIT’s Prairie Day, Saturday May 13th from 9 am to 3 pm. The Peloton booth will have a native grass rainfall and erosion demonstration and information on stream and native prairie restoration projects we have recently completed, including the Bluestem Park stream restoration in North Fort Worth.
This free event is family-friendly with demonstrations, activities, games, petting zoo, food trucks, and live music. BRIT is located at 1700 University Drive in Fort Worth. BRIT’s 70,000 square foot “green” headquarters in Fort Worth opened in 2011 (as the first LEED Platinum environmental designation in Tarrant County), but BRIT began back in 1987 as a non-profit organization housing the Southern Methodist University herbarium. Today, BRIT’s herbarium contains over 1 million plant specimens and its library houses 100,000 volumes of books and journals.
